Aerospace Academy

What is Aerospace Academy?

Free school holiday workshops for students aged 12 to 15.

Gain practical experience in building, testing, and launching rockets. Learn about space agriculture and what humans need to live in space. Engage with flight simulators as you explore aerodynamics. Learn how to safely operate drones. Find out about careers in the aviation and space sectors and MORE!

These FREE whole day workshops come to you thanks to the support of the New South Wales Government and One Giant Leap Australia Foundation.

PEP USYD students will need to sign up for the location for the whole time unless negotiated with One Giant Leap Australia Foundation. For example, 5/6/7th October at Jamberoo/Kiama. It is too difficult for single days.

One Giant Leap Australia Foundation will cover food and accommodation. Transport will be negotiated.

Undergraduate engineering students at University of Sydney are required to complete the professional engagement program for which they must complete 600 hours of professional engagement over the course of their 4 year degree. There are many ways students can fulfil this requirement, one of which is through volunteering. One Giant Leap Australia Foundation is offering the opportunity to volunteer in two programs- Aerospace Academy and Aerospace Camp.
