“It was just a regular day in March, we were doing research for VEX robotics when we stumbled upon this KIBO challenge. We always had a passion in Robotics and when we came to know of Kibo, a Robotics Programming Challenge to program an actual robot in space, we were intrigued. That was when we started to research about Kibo furiously. When we typed in the letters ‘K I B O’, millions of results came up. Clicking on the home page website, what we saw was an adventure, an adventure that awaited us.
Once we learnt that Kibo is a Robotics Programming Challenge, we saw this as another learning journey for us. Although none of us had much experience with programming in Java, it didn’t scare us. Instead, we took it as a personal opportunity to learn during this new adventure. The combination of coding, robotics and an adventure in space has made the whole journey breathtaking.
With the desire of seeing our ideas spring to life in an actual space station, we took upon the challenges and obstacles with determination and tenacity. The experience of participating in Kibo, has helped us to take a huge leap toward our dream of being good at Robotics. We are only high schoolers from Sydney, but with a wish like no other… to do robotics. However, do not underestimate us, for we are ready to welcome any challenges and nothing will stop us from our goal. We are Team Dream Rover, and we hope to find our voice in Robotics through Kibo.”
