For more than a half-century, Space Exploration has been an inspirational force in our society toward the development and application of science and engineering. Space Teams: Mission Oz gives students an incredible opportunity to participate virtually in space exploration.
Are you a student aged 12 and over from the Dubbo Local Government Area? We are looking for 8 young astronauts who would like to participate in Space Teams: Mission Oz. It is from 2nd October to 7th October. The students will form 2 teams and compete against teams around the world.
As part of this mission, teams will design spacecraft, navigate to another planet, land their vehicle, build a planetary habitat, and explore a new planet to find resources to sustain human life. Students will have lessons from subject matter experts including astronauts, scientists and engineers who are directly involved in ongoing missions as they compete with other teams for the best mission design. These topics range from planetary science to spacecraft systems, orbital mechanics to robotic exploration.
